چکیده

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) merupakan penyakit degeneratif makula yang mengakibatkan gangguan penglihatan sentral pada usia lanjut. AMD didapatkan sekitar 5,8% individu dengan kebutaan, penyebab kebutaan keempat terbanyak di dunia. Faktor risiko meliputi usia, genetik, merokok, dan nutrisi. diklasifikasikan menjadi non-neovaskular (dry) neovaskular (wet). Pada tahap awal sering tidak bergejala, lanjut dapat ditemukan hilang disertai distorsi visual gambaran drusen, geographic atrophy, atau neovaskularisasi koroid pemeriksaan fundus. Pencitraan retina diperlukan untuk menentukan tata laksana sesuai derajat penyakit. Penanganan saat ini ditekankan observasi kemampuan pasien mengenali perubahan fungsi serta deteksi dini koroid. Modifikasi gaya hidup, seperti berhenti merokok suplementasi nutrisi, dilakukan mencegah progresivitas AMD.
